Good question. A good scientist should always test his assumptions.
I shall devise a field experiment using diamond white and a spice girl doll, go wait outside the Offie in Hatfield and see how often I get beaten round the head with the clipboard, have the doll shoved up my **se and have my wallet and the drink stolen!
Then again, maybe not ;-)
